Lagos, Nigeria — The Acting Customs Area Controller of the Port and Terminal Multi-services Limited (PTML) Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs (DC) Nura Miko, has called for stronger collaboration among terminal operators and maritime stakeholders to enhance trade facilitation and further improve cargo clearance efficiency at one of Nigeria’s busiest Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) terminals.
The appeal was made during DC Miko’s maiden visit to the Grimaldi/PTML Terminal in Lagos, where he met with terminal management and other industry stakeholders to discuss ways to strengthen operational performance and surpass existing revenue targets. (Maritimafrica)
Focus on Faster Cargo Clearance and Trade Facilitation
During the engagement, DC Miko commended PTML and Grimaldi for their investments and commitment to developing the facility into Nigeria’s leading RoRo terminal.
According to him, the PTML Command currently boasts a two-hour cargo clearance time for compliant RoRo imports, one of the fastest clearance times in the country.
He challenged stakeholders to work collectively toward reducing clearance times even further while maintaining transparency, compliance, and operational integrity. (Maritimafrica)
“PTML Command holds the record as the Command with a two-hour cargo clearance time for compliant RoRo imports. As a Service, we can do even better and further shorten that time without compromising our integrity,” DC Miko said.

The Acting Customs Area Controller emphasized that his administration would prioritize consultation and partnership with stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
He noted that industry players’ expertise and perspectives would be essential in sustaining efficiency and promoting mutual growth.

Responding on behalf of the terminal management, PTML General Manager Tunde Keshinro expressed confidence in the longstanding relationship between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Grimaldi Group.
