The Seychelles Port Authority (SPA) gathered today for a heartfelt send-off as they bid farewell to Mr. David Bianchi, the Director of Strategy, during a brief yet emotional ceremony held at the SPA conference room.
The occasion follows the official announcement from the Office of the President confirming Mr. Bianchi’s appointment as the new Principal Secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports, and Marine.
With an impressive tenure of more than 18 years at SPA, Mr. Bianchi has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of Seychelles’ port industry. From advancing operational efficiency to building international partnerships and leading strategic transformations, his contributions have left a lasting impact. Since 2017, he has served as Director of Strategy, a position through which he spearheaded numerous key initiatives for the Authority.
In his new role as Principal Secretary, Mr. Bianchi will oversee the strategic planning and coordination of the nation’s vital ports, aviation, and maritime sectors—areas essential for economic development, international trade, and national infrastructure.
SPA Board Chairman, Mr. Brian Loveday, and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sony Payet, offered their congratulations and appreciation. Both highlighted Mr. Bianchi’s dedication and outstanding service over the years and extended their best wishes as he embarks on this new leadership journey.
The event was attended by members of the SPA Board, the Deputy CEO, Harbour Master, Special Advisor to the CEO, SPA management, and other staff, all gathered to show their support and gratitude.
Mr. Bianchi is set to officially assume his new position on Tuesday, 15th April. The SPA community extends its warmest wishes for success and prosperity in this important new role.
