Egypt’s First Finished-Vehicle Logistics Terminal Now Open

The Suez Canal Automotive Terminal (SCAT) has officially opened in East Port Said, Egypt, marking a significant milestone in the country’s logistics industry. This state-of-the-art terminal is a joint venture between NYK, Africa Global Logistics (AGL), and Toyota Tsusho Corporation.

  • Strategic Location: Situated in East Port Said, providing easy access to major shipping routes
  • Initial Capacity: 2,550 vehicles, with plans for future expansion to accommodate up to 10,000 vehicles
  • Quay Capacity: Designed to handle two large car carriers simultaneously, increasing efficiency and reducing turnaround times
  • Operating Period: 30-year concession contract with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone

  • NYK: 25% shareholding
  • Africa Global Logistics (AGL): 50% shareholding
